Many current members can fondly recall the decades since they, their parents, and even their grandparents began thinking of the Old Lyme Country Club as their “home away from home.” Since it’s founding in 1916, there has always been the spirit of fellowship, family and fun within the club that endures today.
The calendar on the member website and in “Slice,” the monthly newsletter, is brimming with fun events, celebrations and most any other cause for convivial gathering. Indoor and outdoor music performances, sports tournaments, BBQ, Holiday celebrations, and wine tastings are all par for the course.
Country Club life offers so much more than fine dining, events and robust physical activities. Opportunities abound for friends to gather to play Bridge or Mah Jongg, sing in a choral group, compare grapes in the wine club, compete on the Bocce court, or share notes in the book club – Literature and Libations!
The physical setting of the Old Lyme Country Club is stunning. As one approaches the Clubhouse, set on the hill in the distance, the beautiful fairways, greens, stony ledge, heirloom trees and plantings begin the work of drawing members into the realm of pleasure and relaxation with every visit.
